In recent times there is a substantial change in construction technologies, the world needs modern technologies to make comfortable, safe and durable homes, quickly, efficiently and economically.
Steel Framing is a constructive system that is a real innovation in relation to the systems considered until now as “traditional”. It is a system tested and applied in several countries for over 30 years, being an innovation, but without doubt the future, and also the present for those who assume today the culture of a rational and sustainable construction. A fast, eco-friendly, flexible and economical construction.
The construction with light structure of galvanized steel stands out for the great amount of advantages over other types of systems, like the traditional work or the wood. Its unsurpassed thermo-acoustic and environmental quality, achieved by filling all the bulk of the walls with insulation, makes it an indispensable ally for low consumption or passive constructions. Due to its light weight, it is ideal for constructions on new or old buildings (remodeling). There is also no cracking of the walls, a product of movements by settlement.
Steel Framing is a construction system formed by a framework of profiles obtained by forming cold rolled galvanized sheets.

The profiles of the system are manufactured from galvanized steel sheets of thicknesses reduced by cold forming. The predominant profiles are the so-called C-shaped uprights that are installed vertically at a distance of 40 or 60 cm from each other, which are bolted at the ends to the so-called sole-shaped profiles in One, which form the upper horizontal edges And bottom of the lattice. These panels are used in the form of panels, floor by floor, anchoring the lower floors to the lower floor and the upper floor to the sky and upper floor. These frameworks are then covered with facing strand board (OSB) facing outer panels, chalkboard ‘Pladur’ on the inner side and insulation such as rock wool or glass wool, separated with a vapor barrier, screwed to the uprights And soleres, thus constituting a system of construction ‘in dry’, by which it is distinguished of the traditional construction ‘wet’ of mason. The profiles are of thickness between 0.55 mm to 2.5 mm, with wing widths between 30 and 70 mm and heights from 35 to 350 mm depending on the structural requirements to which they are subjected. The uprights can carry perforations to allow the passage of conducts and cables from the electrical installation and drinking water.

Production

The steel mills produce steel sheets in galvanized coils in continuous process which serve as the basis for the later manufacture of these profiles of the Steel Framing, in continuous forming machines of high efficiency. Galvanizing prevents oxidation and corrosion of the material.

Advantage

Steel Framing provides a great flexibility of design, and greater lights that in solutions of wood and very smaller weights own than the solutions of armed cement. Hence their advantage of occupation in countries in which earthquakes can occur. It is a solution that can reduce costs and work times and is a contemporary solution, industrialized and with the efficiency provided by standardization.

Utilization

The Steel Framing system is used in many countries, for example in North America, Australia, some in Europe, notably Chile and Turkey where it has been adopted after the earthquakes that occurred a few years ago. In addition, it is applicable in all kinds of residential, commercial and industrial constructions, characterized by its simplicity, structural efficiency and reduced structural loads.
